Empty Words:
A Design Reader
About
This design reader is a response to an article written by Anoushka Khandwala titled ‘What Does It Mean to Decolonize Design? Dismantling design history 101’.
It investigates the studying of local multilingual vernacular typography as a means of decolonising design and consists of 5 cited readings.
Motivation
This project was inspired by my interest in linguistics particularly the multilingualism of Singapore and decolonisation. I wanted to investigate if multiligualism was an answer to decolonising design.
Interesting Find
I ran almost islandwide collecting flyers and realised that besides from squatting at HDBs, Community Centers are a good source too.
